Character Interview *SASS By Laramie Briscoe*

BLURB
I, Cassandra Straight, have loved Reed Shamrock to distraction since I was a teenager. I even watched him fall in love with someone else and almost get married. A year ago, when he walked into his house and found his fiancĂ©e’s face in his best friend’s crotch, his life changed forever and it hasn’t been the same since. On his first night out since the horrible incident, we run into the ex-skank. Seeing the devastation in his eyes, I made a promise that I would help him get over her. I told him that a pretend relationship between us would work. It would help him move on. I didn’t count on my heart or his getting in the way. And I sure as hell didn’t count on not being able to tell when pretend turned to reality. When it all implodes, the only thing left is the truth. Sometimes though, the truth? It hides and we have to dig deep to find it. To make it come to the surface, we have to give it a little talking to. We have to give it a little Sass.

Included in the back of Sass is an exclusive sneak peak of “Renegade” – the first book in a new series for 2017!

CHARACTER INTERVIEW

Good Morning Sass and Reed, thank you so much for sitting down with Morning Books and Coffee today. I can't tell you how excited I am to be getting answers to questions most of us are itching to know.

I can see from sitting with you all this morning that you two are very much in "LOVE" do you think you both have found your soulmate in one another?

S&R: Definitely

They laugh as they smile at one another.

S: I’ve known for a long time he was my soulmate. It took a little while to convince him.

R: I can’t imagine waking up every day without her next to me, or going to bed at night without her doing her nightly routine in the bathroom before she comes to bed and puts her ice cold feet between on my legs. It’s oddly endearing. If that’s not love, I don’t know what is.

S: And he calls me Sass.

It has been such a whirl wind romance can you tell me Reed how you were feeling when Sass offered you her proposition?

R: I felt like maybe there was a light at the end of the darkness I had been living in. All I was doing was trying to make it day by day, and when she offered me the help, I knew I wouldn’t have to be alone anymore. She was a rock, and when she offered, I grabbed on and never let go. I just didn’t want to be alone anymore and I sure as hell didn’t want another woman like Lacey.

Did either of you ever think it would become a full blown relationship?

S: I hoped it would, but I didn’t really think at first he could see that with me.

R: Not at all. I mean, I’d never looked at her that way before, not in a million years. I can’t say that I’m not happy about how it has turned out though. I still can’t believe it was under my nose all these years.

S: That’s what you get for not looking.

At those words, Reed pulls her close, a rueful grin on his lips.

R: She lives up to her name doesn’t she?

Sass you are a strong woman so when it came to offering Reed a fake relationship did you ever consider how your heart would become involved and he would break down your walls you've build?

S: I didn’t think about anything other than helping him. I hate that bitch for what she did, and I was sick of seeing him hurting. In my mind, I was thinking anything I could do to help him move on, I would. It wasn’t a well thought out plan at all and it almost backfired, but we made it through. We’re stronger together ::she holds up their entwined fingers:: than we ever were apart.

Do you feel like you got intimate a little too fast?

R: Maybe we should have talked more in the beginning, but when you feel something, you act on it.

S: I agree, and let’s be honest. I waited a long damn time. I’ve been imagining it for years.

With Sass being Justin's little sister, you have to have wanted his acceptance for the relationship, how does he feel about you two being together now?

R: I’m not saying he still doesn’t give me shit, and every once in a while we don’t take a swing at each other, but he’s good with it. If you ask him, he’ll say all he’s ever wanted is for both of us to be happy, like he’s to thank for this.

S: ::laughs:: Yeah, he tells anybody that’ll listen it was all him. He talks about how he gave us such great advice. Can you see my eye roll from here?

Reed when it came to your Ex Lacey did it ever cross your mind that you would want to get back with her since you and Sass were just playing around to show Lacey you moved on?

R: No, I knew I could never trust her again. There may have been one or two weak moments when I was down to the bottom of a bottle, but in my right mind? Fuck no. I wouldn’t offer her water if she were on fire right now.

Do you still see Lacey around town? Is it awkward?

S: I do see her, probably more than Reed. Not awkward at all, I know what I go home to every night. Every time I see her, I smile so big and wave. Usually I’ll say really loudly “thank you for screwing up your relationship with Reed and giving me the best man I’ve ever had”. ::shrugs:: She hates that, but I love the look she gets on her face.

R: She’s right, I don’t see her. Lacey avoids me like the plague after the last time I saw her. Once in a while we’ll see her at Hank’s, but she stays pretty far away from me.

Sass you have been in love with Reed since you were a kid, did you ever think he would feel the same way about you?

S: No, and I think God every day he does.

Do you two have any regrets with how you two played things and how the relationship began?

S: Nope, I’m a shameless hussy. I was gonna take him, anyway I could get him. Even if it meant out in public, in a parking lot.

R: She is shameless, but I do. I wish we would have communicated more. If we had of, there would have been a lot less doubt on both our parts. Either way, it brought us together, and it gave us the parking lot experience, so I can’t knock it that badly.

Are there wedding bells and babies in your near future?

S&R: That’s a whole other story…….

Thanks so much for sitting down with me today I know everyone will be happy to see where you all are at!

We have to give it a little sass…..
