What happened in chapter 6 - chapter 10?:
Months after they first met, Emi and Sydney are celebrating the fact that Emi was chosen for a high profile internship with champagne and pizza when she finally admits to herself that she feels something for him. He opens up to her and tells her the truth about his feelings for Lynn in the past, but is firm that nothing ever happened, but Emi can’t help feeling a little jealous anyway.
Lynn suspects something is going on with Sydney and Emi, but he denies it, although he’s definitely attracted to her. He’s seeing a woman named Cheryl at the moment and Emi is on and off with her boyfriend, Darren.
Emi’s feelings of jealousy don’t go away when they get to La Jolla for a festival and anniversary celebration for the restaurant. Valerie and Lynn set Sydney up with someone named Lucy, and Emi just hates it. She hates seeing him interact with Cristina, Mando’s widow. At least Sydney ended up hating Lucy, who was obsessive.
Not long after they get back from La Jolla, Emi tells Sydney she dumped Darren for good this time. But a few months later, Emi starts seeing one of her brother’s high profile team mates, Sly Sabian.
